Apple's MAC will switch to a hardware platform based on its own chips in two years'time, something you've heard a lot about in the tech world, but I won't repeat it here. So there is a problem, later ARM Mac will also use AMD home graphics card? Now someone has found an inkling in the official data. On Apple Silicon Mac, the probability is that they will only use their own-brand GPU integrated into the chip, not other gpus, which means that, the screenshot above from WWDC 2020's Bring your Metal APP to Apple Silicon Macs shows that the GPU is the only thing left on the Apple Silicon MAC list, the original Intel, NVIDIA, and AMD GPUs were all based on Intel-based macs, not the new Apple Silicon Mac. The future Apple GPU on macs should be built on the same architecture as the GPU they use on mobile devices. Unlike the current mainstream instant mode rendering, the Apple GPU is based on block rendering and is better suited to low power devices. And it will use the same amount of memory as the CPU portion, making it easier to do general-purpose computing. Also, it's not clear where Apple's future Apple Silicon Mac add ons will go, and if you continue to use the Thunderbolt connector, it's going to be a big question mark over eGPU compatibility. Apple has announced that it will launch a MAC product later this year that uses a self developed chip. As things stand, it should use an 8 core 4 small core SOC for the MAC with an unknown GPU part, but it's definitely better than the current A12z. By then, we should be able to figure out apple's future plans for the MAC product line.
