Paul Allen, born on January 21, 1953, is an American entrepreneur who founded the Microsoft company with Bill Gates. The founder and chairman of Vulcan Inc. He is one of the richest men in the world, and by 2006 he was no. 6 in Forbes magazine, with about $22.7 billion in assets, of which $5 billion was Microsoft stock. He is also chairman of Charter Communications, a dream factory shareholder, and the NFL's Seattle seahawks and the NBA Portland trail blazers.
On Oct. 24, 2014, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen announced at least $100 million in donations to stop the spread of ebola. Allen posted a statement on his website Thursday. Allen said the money will help the state department develop medical aid equipment needed to evacuate medical workers from west Africa.
