David Koch (May 3, 1940 to August 23, 2019) is an American entrepreneur and rich man. He is one of the owners of "Koch industry" in the United States and former vice chairman of Koch industry group. The Kansas based company is the second largest private company in the United States. Its business includes oil, energy, chemical, wood, etc. Koch brothers owns refineries all over Alaska, Texas, Minnesota and other places, bringing them a steady stream of wealth. In 2014, his personal assets reached 40 billion US dollars, and he and his brother Charles Koch tied for the sixth place in the Forbes world rich list.
David Koch is the richest resident of New York City. His family business was created with his billionaire brother Charles. The kochs built a medium-sized refining company inherited from their father, Fred, into the second largest private company in the United States. Koch's investments include oil pipelines, refineries, fertilizers, fibers, polymers, forests, consumer electronics, and chemical technologies; Georgia Pacific paper is also part of its portfolio.
David is the executive vice president of the Wichita, Kansas based conglomerate, which is run by his brother Charles. Like his brother, David is also a prostate cancer patient. He said his biggest donation was to a project called launch to the moon, which aims to find a cure for cancer. So far, David has donated $750 million.
